Nga Kor Ming's Harbin Visit Yields Fruitful Results, Strengthens Malaysia-China Relations
Malaysian Minister of Housing and Local Government, Nga Kor Ming, successfully concluded a three-day official visit to Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, at the invitation of the provincial government. The visit marked significant progress in Malaysia-China bilateral cooperation, with key achievements including plans for a direct flight route between Malaysia and Harbin, the potential establishment of a Harbin Institute of Technology campus in Malaysia, and Malaysia’s selection as the Guest of Honor for the 2026 Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair (HTF).

Malaysia Invited as Guest of Honor for 2026 Harbin Trade Fair
At the invitation of the Heilongjiang Provincial Government, the Malaysia-China Cultural Tourism Association facilitated a delegation led by Malaysia’s Minister of Housing and Local Government, Nga Kor Ming, for an official visit to Heilongjiang from January 4 to 7, 2025. The visit included participation in the Harbin Ice and Snow Festival opening ceremony and visits to key institutions, such as the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Heilongjiang Sub-Council, Heilongjiang Emergency Management Department, and Harbin Songbei Fire Rescue Bureau.

Malaysian Delegation Led by Nga Kor Ming Visits Harbin Institute of Technology
On January 6, 2025, Malaysia’s Minister of Housing and Local Government, Nga Kor Ming, led a delegation to visit Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), organized by the Malaysia-China Cultural Tourism Association. HIT Vice President Shuai Yong, along with Wu Jian, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office, Zhao Yixiao, Dean of the International Education School, Pan Xudong, Executive Dean of the School of Excellence in Engineering, and Chen Jianfei, Associate Dean of the School of Architecture, warmly welcomed the delegation.

“Tea Trails Along The Silk Road” Youth Study Tour 2.0: A New Chapter of Tea Culture Exchange Between Chinese and Malaysian Youth
In less than six months, Zhejiang International Studies University (ZISU) has once again joined hands with the Malaysia-China Cultural Tourism Association to host the “Tea Trails Along The Silk Road” Youth Study Tour 2.0. From December 1 to 6, 2024, 24 students and faculty members from Zhejiang International Studies University and Peking University traveled across Malaysia, visiting destinations such as Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, and the Cameron Highlands to experience Malaysia’s diverse culture and explore the unique allure of Malaysian tea traditions.

On November 24, Minister of Housing and Local Government YB Nga Kor Ming announced that Malaysia has been invited as one of the guest countries at the prestigious Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival in China. Leading a Malaysian delegation, Nga will showcase the country’s unique “Kampung Good” products on the international stage from January 4 to 9, 2024.

Celebrating Malaysia-China Friendship: Exploring Tea Culture Through a Youth Study Program
From July 1 to 5, 2024, a delegation of 12 students and faculty members from Zhejiang International Studies University (ZISU), together with representatives from the Malaysia-China Cultural Tourism Association, embarked on a journey to explore Malaysia’s tea culture and the intertwined cultural heritage of Malaysia and China. Visiting historic Melaka, Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown, and the Cameron Highlands tea plantations, the participants exchanged heartfelt wishes for the enduring friendship between Malaysia and China.

Malaysia Universities Forge New Academic Collaborations with Heilongjiang Institutions
Malaysian universities, including Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah University, Sunway University, HELP University, and Hanxin College, have embarked on collaborative agreements with 11 universities from China's Heilongjiang Province. China's Heilongjiang Provincial Foreign Affairs Office Visitation to Malaysia
Today we witnessed an important event in promoting cross-border collaboration and exchange - the visit of Mr. Li Shengbin, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Heilongjiang Province in China, to Malaysia. This visit witnessed the continuous deepening of cooperative relations between the two countries, and also demonstrated the determination and confidence of both parties to jointly promote regional development.

Harbin International Economy and Trade Fair
On June 15, 2023, Tourism Pahang achieved an important milestone at the Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair, setting up an independent exhibition hall for the first time. With the assistance of the Malaysia-China Culture Tourism Association, Pahang state assemblymen YB Leong Yu Man, YB Sim Chon Siang and YB Lee Chin Chen, as well as the General Manager of Tourism Pahang Mr. Kamaruddin attended the event. A total of eight exhibitors joined Pahang Tourism’s pavilion to showcase their products and services. These exhibitors include Grand Ion Delemen Hotel, DSR Taiko Berhad, Colmar Tropicale, Berjaya Hills, Berjaya Tioman Resort, Xcape Resort, Swiss Garden Beach Resort Kuantan, E Like Travel & Tours and West Pahang Eco-tourism & Leisure Farm Association.

ICCTE 2023
The International Conference on Cultural Tourism and Education & Award Ceremony is co-hosted by the Malaysia-China Cultural Tourism Association and the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Heilongjiang Province, China. The conference brought together 17 universities and more than 30 companies and organizations from Pahang, Selangor and Heilongjiang Province in China for cultural tourism cooperation discussions and educational exchanges.
